How does Liztox work?

Treatment Details

Liztox should only be applied on patients by qualified medical professionals. Methods differ depending on the area being targeted. For upper limb spasticity, it depends on which muscle needs to be treated. For the biceps, 100 units to 200 units divided between four sites is recommended, and for the flexor carpi ulnaris, 12.5 units to 50 units in one site is sufficient. How long does it last?

The actual duration of effects is highly dependent upon the lifestyle and physiology of the patient. However, it has been noted that it can last for 3 to 6 months after injection.

Safety Information

Although this product is generally safe to use on patients, and the substance it is based on has been FDA approved for decades, there are certain patients who should not use it. This includes those who:

  • Have pre-existing neuromuscular disorders
  • Hypersensitivity to any of the components
  • Infection or inflammation at the injection site
